The LS100 combines a fully enclosed hood, automatic autofocus and a built-in air compressor: you change material, not configuration. These are jobs an open laser with manual focusing simply cannot keep up with.

What an entry-level laser cannot do
An open, manually-focused laser handles one material type correctly at a time — at the cost of resetting for every change. The LS100 opens up runs that kind of machine cannot keep up with.
No manual setup
Autofocus removes manual focusing between pieces of different thickness. The Point & Shoot pointer positions the mark in one move.
A hood that protects the run
Fully enclosed machine, CDRH Class 2: a job can run unattended, where an open laser requires a dedicated ventilated room and protective equipment.
A station that works without a PC
A job already stored is relaunched from the on-board panel, without reopening a file on a computer for a repeat order.

Engraving and cutting: why the same laser is enough
Moving from surface marking to full cutting means changing station or fixture on other setups — with a risk of misalignment between a cut outline and an engraving at the same spot.
On the LS100, the piece does not move between the two operations: registration stays mechanically perfect.

Before you order: moving to 40 or 60 W becomes necessary once cutting thicker materials (acrylic, solid wood) enters your regular production — the Energy version stays geared toward surface engraving.
